InstaDocs is desktop software that runs entirely on your own machine. We designed it so that your documents never leave your control. This policy explains what that means in practice, and what limited information we handle when you obtain a licence or visit this website.

1. The short version

Your documents stay on your machine. Scanned images, extracted text and per-page results are processed locally. We never receive them.
No telemetry. The Software does not send usage analytics, crash reports, file names or machine identifiers to us.
Licence checks are offline. Your licence is verified on your machine with no network call.
This website uses no advertising cookies or third-party analytics.

2. Information the Software processes

2.1 Document content. All content the Software processes — scanned TIFFs, intermediate images, recognised text and per-page metadata — is processed locally on your machine. None of it is transmitted to us or to any third party in the course of normal operation.

2.2 Local logs and history. The Software keeps a local history database, log files and a backup directory on your machine. These contain document paths, processing parameters and per-file outcomes. They remain on your machine, under your user-data directory. You are responsible for managing access to these local files in line with your organisation’s policies.

2.3 Network activity. The Software contacts the network only to:

Check for updates, when you choose “Check for updates…” or an opt-in scheduled check runs. This retrieves a version pointer from our distribution service at get.appz.dev and, if you confirm, downloads the installer or a delta update. No document content is sent.
Download optional language packs, when you install an additional OCR language from Settings. Only the requested language file is fetched.

Licence verification involves no network call.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Licensing. When you request or renew a licence, you provide your email address and the machine fingerprint shown by the Software. We use these solely to issue, deliver and support your licence, and to provide customer support. The machine fingerprint is a derived hardware identifier; it does not contain your documents or personal files.

3.2 Correspondence. If you email us, we keep your message and contact details to respond and for our records.

We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. This website

4.1 This site is informational. The Download button redirects to our distribution service at get.appz.dev, which serves the signed installer.

4.2 The site is served through Cloudflare, our hosting and content-delivery provider. Cloudflare may process standard technical request data (such as IP address and user-agent) to deliver and secure the site, as described in Cloudflare’s own privacy documentation. We do not add advertising cookies, cross-site trackers or third-party analytics to this site.

5. Data retention

We keep licensing and correspondence records for as long as needed to support your licence and to meet our legal and accounting obligations, after which we delete or anonymise them.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the limited personal information we hold about you (your email, machine fingerprint and correspondence). To exercise them, email legal@appz.dev and we will respond within a reasonable period.

7. International users

We operate from India. Any limited personal information you send us in the course of licensing or support may be processed there. By contacting us you consent to that processing.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date at the top of this page.
